Do you have air conditioning at home or office? Have you ever thought where you dispose of the waste water from air conditioner condensation? Usually people make long pipe and discharged into waterways, or there is also dispose into the street which eventually spilling water everywhere and a pool of water. Though the water’s been increasingly difficult and we throw away the water that can still be used for watering plants, cleaning the floor, or other.

Actually we can make newly installed air conditioners in our home or office and put a bucket in each AC pipes to collect water so that can reused. Maybe we can make pipe that connects the office air conditioning to some large pot so it does not need too much in the flush anymore or even do not need watering again.

At home, just plug it into a bucket of water in the morning and you can be used for watering the plants. As much as possible we do not use a valuable ground water for our use only for watering the plants. Use the remaining water from the air conditioner and / or rain water that has been accommodated. AC pipes can be designed so as to not block views or exacerbate environmental aesthetics and looks to be a part. For the countries, where water is very critical, they must conserve water as much as possible and the city government just issuing regulations regarding the design for the building where the waste water from the AC must be stored in underground storage, and will be used as irrigation for the garden around the building.

The point is we should be able to find a way for all sorts of water is not wasted, and should be utilized. We can say it still floods hit everywhere but the problem is underground water that has less and less when it is used only after the water discharged into the street and river. This is cause of water crisis.

What’s more your idea? And what else is wasted water that we can use again? Let’s think together.

Facebook, one of the major social networking site that is currently growing rapidly, a few time ago announced plans to build large data centers in Oregon, USA. What is interesting is that all servers using the servers efficient plan in terms of consumption of electric energy to serve the millions of people communicate with each other, one of them is you.

Though seen with the use of environmentally friendly energy-efficient servers, but not enough for a data center, including one who consumes large amounts of electricity for the servers, cooling systems, and backup power device to be environmentally friendly, because the resources and processes which occurs at power plants must also environmentally friendly.

For those of you who feel concerned with the environment, there is one thing you can possibly make use of considerations with your facebook account. Because, based on information from Greenpeace, Facebook will rely on electricity supply for its data center from power plants that burn coal and increase carbon emissions to join the millions of tons of CO2 that have been scattered in the atmosphere beforehand.

PacifiCorp, an electric company of choice for Facebook to electricity supply, is a company which amounted to 83% of the electricity it generates comes from burning coal, geothermal and natural gas.

It remains unclear what underlies Facebook also choose to add the CO2 released into the atmosphere by selecting PacifiCorp. Presumably because of the cost of the power plant provides the best option for Facebook to grow more quickly by investing a lightweight.

1. Stop consuming chemicals. All food are conventionally using synthetic pesticides / chemicals, contain residues of chemicals. All types of pesticides are carcinogenic substances (a substance that caused due to burning can stimulate the growth of cancer).

2. To be healthy, at least we can start with what we eat everyday. Because rice (rice) is 60% to 70% of the total that we eat every day, so the rice (rice) is very influential to our health. You can Imagine how many milli grams of chemical elements into our bodies every day.

3. Protect the Children
Children are vulnerable to toxins than adults. A study conducted in 1980 concluded that on average children exposed to cancer-causing toxic ingredients four times more than in adults, where most come from the kinds of kid’s food that they eat. Choosing foods have an important effect on health of future children.

4. Protecting water quality, air and soil Consuming organic food means that we can participate in the restoration of ecosystems that have been damaged and to participate actively maintain the balance of nature. There are some toxins POP (Persistent Pollutant Org) to watch the result of the use of synthetic pesticides / chemicals other than DDT found in soil, air and water, among others are: aldrin, chlordane, dieldrin, endrin, heptachlor, mirex, toxaphenyl, hexachlorobenzene , PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), dioxins, furans.

5. Protecting the Agricultural Worker Health
By consuming organic products that assist in their struggle for a healthy work environment. Example cases:
a. 18 Population migration in North Lampung died from rat poison, tuberculosis or respiratory tract cancer.
b. 12 people in klaten farmer died from poison DDT.

6. Supports Local Farmers in Small scales
Helping our communities to achieve food security. Low price of conventional foods shows that agricultural workers do not receive a fair wage/income.

7. The taste of organic is better.
According to people who used to consume organic food, is more sweet and crunchy, and also more aromatic freshness fragrant, soft, and more durable.

One way to handle garbage is 3R, which is Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. In order to use the organic waste as compost. How do I make compost? Can we make it at home? At first you have to separate the organic and inorganic waste, you know what is organic waste? yes rotting garbage, such as leaves, trash from the kitchen, or leftovers and shredded into small pieces.

The next step is mix the waste that has been shredded by active material. The active material is “microorganisms” that could be taken from the ground in a drain, or bacteria than sold on the market (called EM4) into a container that is always enough air supply.

Trash containers stored into some place that have enough air circulation and always turn around every 2-3 days. When this piece of garbage become warmer, it is a sign that the process of compost formation worked well. After 3 weeks you can take the waste that has a dark brown color from the pile and it can be use as fertilizer for crops and your gardening.

The easiest way is using compost bin. Today, compost tumblers have replaced the necessity of daily work to make compost. This compost tumbler is to automatically keep everything aerated. Air is very important for the process and without the air, you will have little or no fertilizer for your crops and garden.

It is very little mess and it will function without to many maintenance. Some of tumbler have a manual crank and driven by solar power or electricity. Choose the type that fit to your needs.

For environmentally friendly, one more thing we need to reduce their use: paper: paper production requires a lot of energy, water, and of course the king of trees!

Do you know that saving the use of paper means also saving water? So, what to do? It turned out to make a sheet of copier paper, at least require 400 ml of water, equivalent to alias 2 cups. And we all know that water is now a commodity which includes rare and should be saved as much as possible. But not only that, save the use of paper also means saving the forests in the world who increasingly been denuded. This is because the raw materials of the major paper-reaching 95 percent of the wood.

It may be hard to find relationships in data on the daily life of our home. Moreover, more awaits the use of paper associated with the activity in the office. For more details, see around our house. Newspapers, shopping receipts, credit card bills, brochures, packets of rice, until the tissue, can easily be found in the house.

Everything is a product of the paper, which often only end up in the trash. This shows that the amount of paper usage in many households and its impact can not be ignored.

We can not close our eyes and handed responsibility to the affairs of this paper offices. This is our responsibility too! Many fact that we can do at home to reduce paper consumption.

Maximum Use
Invitations using paper on both sides, should not be considered as a mere slogan. Seemingly easy way is still not practiced a lot of people. Begin to use the side of the paper is still no respond.

Papers that come into the house, such as invoices or leaflets, do not immediately discarded. Separate the paper can still be used in a special basket. Cut paper into small scraps of paper. Section beyond the empty can be used to record phone messages or shopping lists.

When opening an envelope, then don’t tear it up. That way, the envelope is still in a clean and tidy. Save this envelope to be used again. In this way, save paper jam, can also save money

For birthday? Usually we give someone a gift wrapped in pretty paper. The paper presents an unnecessary extravagance. Often, the paper specifically purchased for only torn out and thrown away. Try to create with wrapping paper of the existing materials in the house. Newspaper, magazines-colored, comic pages long, interesting gift wrapping made. Add decorative style that match natural to support the theme of “recycling”.

Newsprint is one of the largest contributors to the waste paper in the household in general. Before it sold to the junkman, use of newspaper for a variety of purposes. Maybe some already we apply at home, but it never hurts to remind again of how a newspaper can be useful. In addition to gift wrap, use newspaper as a protector when glassware stored or transmitted. Remember also the teachings of our grandmothers used, the cleaning of glass windows with newspapers. The fibers in newsprint can pave the glass surface and make it look translucent.

Variety of waste paper can be used various materials unique crafts. Encourage children to put their creativity by processing waste paper back in the house, one of which is to recycle paper. That way, they are taught early on to appreciate every piece of paper there.

Go Online!
Computers are finding that trust can reduce paper usage, because all documents will be stored in the form of files. At home, start getting used to life “without papers”; receiving and transmitting digital information through. For example, switch credit card bills and phone bills are sent by mail every month with the bills through electronic mail (email). That way we have come to reduce ‘the use of unnecessary paper.

Furthermore, the scan (scan) the documents still need to be considered, such as proof of payment to the bank, and save the file in the computer. If you already have a copy like this, the physical form of paper can be recycled. It’s not all documents can be scanned, for reasons of security and authenticity, such as birth certificates or letters of land ownership. But with reduced majority, our file cabinets to be more relieved!

Because we become more dependent on computers, computer consequences should be “maintained”. In that sense, the computer must be free from viruses that risk damaging the documents. Computers also be in top shape, with no problems on the hardware and software. In addition, “treatment” is making another routine back up, just in case if there is something that can destroy the document.

Back to the past
After struggling with the idea online, time to go back to the past practice to save paper. Right now we are used to clean everything with a tissue. Wiping the sweat from his face, we rely on the tissue. Drinks spilled, the water is absorbed by tissue. Hands wet from washing hands, dried with a tissue. And finally that clump clump tissue in the trash pile.

Tissue paper is a product of modern times. Disposable nature ensures that it is more hygienic. Considering the consumption of a very large napkin around the world, saving the use of tissue would have an impact big enough for saving paper.

If possible, use a fabric cloth back to the kitchen, the sink, and a front wiper. Fabrics can be washed and used repeatedly so as not to waste paper. Avoid also the use of beverage packaging and plastic plates in the house, even at a certain time like a party. Always select cutlery that can be reused. In addition, the paper utensils are generally made of plastic containing waste more difficult to recycle.

Lastly, always separate the waste paper with other debris. This is to facilitate the staff in the sorting of garbage, so this paper can be directly taken to the recycling place. At present, waste paper and its derivative products include the 25 percent of all garbage in garbage disposal. Help us in saving and sorting garbage.

Mp3’s if there is a better standard again we have another fox. MP3 was not always free and must be downloaded first. By environment, Instead of Buying the CD, Download Only Through the Internet, is free. To download songs because the environment will be better because the chain of distribution channels and production of the CD itself. Indeed for all these activities require Internet bandwidth big enough, but with the growth of Internet bandwidth is growing rapidly, the more that can also use the alternative this song over the internet.

Another alternative is to listen to online radio. Now there are many Indonesian radio also has an alternative radio online. List of Indonesia’s online radio can be found on the internet. Online radio could be heard through Winamp, i-tunes, Windows Media Player, or others. With any online radio community that Indonesia is in foreign countries can continue to listen to the news as well as songs from Indonesia.

But sometimes we also want to choose their own songs which would be heard if we listen to the radio, unless you request, can listen to our choices. Therefore, there is also a new way to select and listen to songs over the Internet. If the You Tube we can see the video for free via the Internet, then with Songza and Songerize we can find the song you want and immediately play them through the internet. I think Songerize more complete because of trial and error search for Indonesian songs, though not all there, still can be search. Way too easy to use because it does not require additional software, as well as You Tube.

“3-R concept is the reduced (Reduse), using back and recycling (recycling) of the remains that is not useful.
All parties should implement the 3R concept of a consistent and sustainable as an effort to save the environment and maintaining environmental sustainability.

For that society should be encouraged to reduce the utilization of resources in carrying out various activities in everyday life. Also use back the remains of a useless becomes a useful object.

People need to be involved directly in efforts to reduce, reuse and recycling of goods that have been exploited. The effort can be done by a very simple, attractive and consistent. Socialization program for the serious attention especially as an attempt to embrace the community.

October 15, is the World Hand Washing Day is held in order to make a clean habits, especially for children. Washing your hands is a very good habit and the most effective way and cheaper to prevent diseases such as diarrhea, infectious diseases, etc..

The slogan used for Global Handwashing Day is also a “Clean Hands Save Lives” so expect the kids will learn how to wash their hands well by organizations and companies participated in this global event.

What to do with the blog I Want Green? Clean water is not necessarily efficient, but I think it could be more efficient clean water. The purpose of this statement is, if we are to wash hands with running tap water, then we will wash their hands more quickly because it was throwing water and hunted down by the sound of water. But if at the time to wash our hands first turn off the faucet when we wash with soap, then we can wash our hands with soap with a better, longer and thorough and will certainly be healthier. In addition to a healthy, water-efficient, too.

So, not only have to wash your hands clean, but first turn off the faucet when washing with soap so that we can wash your hands with long and complete. Do not forget to not open the water tap is too big, too, so be more frugal.
