Efforts infiltration green bags on the roofs of buildings and structures are commonly known as roof gardens, green space or roof garden roof.

The existence of roof garden will add economic value for residential buildings which are equipped with a roof garden would feel more comfortable and visually beautiful. Benefits roof garden especially extensive in improving air quality and enhance environmental quality including:

Absorption of heat in the building is reduced by 10%. This means you can economize up to 60% of energy consumption used to cool the air. Temperatures in space can come down at least 1-2 celcius degrees, depending on the area of the roof garden.

The existence of the forage, especially the plants with leaf surface rough or jagged edges, especially potent to reduce noise for residents in the building.

Wall of a dark color will absorb heat between 70-90% of the total solar radiation that hit the area. Some of this heat would go into the house by way of conduction in the wall that would lead to heat inside the house. This would increase the energy needed to cool the room up to 20%.

The bright colors will reflect most of the rays and heat away from your home. The color is not necessarily white, but a green or blue color is good that is more bright color.

Wall with vines can also protect the wall from the heat by putting blocks sunlight and reflected it in advance. Select vines that is easy to care.

Even the smallest contribution will continue to conserve our energy and improve the environment.

Do you have air conditioning at home or office? Have you ever thought where you dispose of the waste water from air conditioner condensation? Usually people make long pipe and discharged into waterways, or there is also dispose into the street which eventually spilling water everywhere and a pool of water. Though the water’s been increasingly difficult and we throw away the water that can still be used for watering plants, cleaning the floor, or other.

Actually we can make newly installed air conditioners in our home or office and put a bucket in each AC pipes to collect water so that can reused. Maybe we can make pipe that connects the office air conditioning to some large pot so it does not need too much in the flush anymore or even do not need watering again.

At home, just plug it into a bucket of water in the morning and you can be used for watering the plants. As much as possible we do not use a valuable ground water for our use only for watering the plants. Use the remaining water from the air conditioner and / or rain water that has been accommodated. AC pipes can be designed so as to not block views or exacerbate environmental aesthetics and looks to be a part. For the countries, where water is very critical, they must conserve water as much as possible and the city government just issuing regulations regarding the design for the building where the waste water from the AC must be stored in underground storage, and will be used as irrigation for the garden around the building.

The point is we should be able to find a way for all sorts of water is not wasted, and should be utilized. We can say it still floods hit everywhere but the problem is underground water that has less and less when it is used only after the water discharged into the street and river. This is cause of water crisis.

What’s more your idea? And what else is wasted water that we can use again? Let’s think together.

That is one of the slogans of the trends that exist across the world. We can begin to reduce our plastic waste to not wear it but replace it.

1. Do not use plastic bags for shopping. Bring your own shopping bag that can always be used again.
2. Do not just throw away plastic bottle after drinking. Fill with water again and again, although not too many refill. Approximately 5 times disposable still okay. For the usual drink in the car, prepare a bottle is always fully charged.
3. It’s better to buy a drink bottles that can be refilled and do not always have to buy another bottle of mineral water.
4. In western countries many cafes like Starbucks have started to allow customers to bring their own mugs or better to fill a coffee Thermos. Plastic bags can still be used again. But if the plastic glass can only once.

Sometimes it is also difficult if not inserted with an incentive to the customer. Yet if we do not use plastic bags or plastic cup of cafe will also reduce their costs thereby increasing profits.

So in western countries have a lot of entrepreneurs who want to come help provide incentives such as supermarkets which offer a discount when not using their plastic bags such as Aldi or Albertsons. IKEA instead will force customers to pay for plastic bags. With this IKEA expects customers will reduce consumption of plastic bags which reach 70 million bags per year just for the United States.

Singapore began to assign a particular day as “Bring Your Own Bag” Day, where customers are required to bring their own pockets and who does not carry required to pay the 30 cents that will be used for environmental activities. Shopping bags that can be reused now a best seller in Singapore.

In fact we have to laugh at those who do not understand the importance of environment and lack of awareness to reduce waste. Now many shopping bags with unique and funky design as well so that young children do not feel inferior. Drink bottles also are getting cool so do not feel like a kindergartner who brought a bottle to drink.

When the territorial sea of a country is often marred by the tanker-oil tanker carrying crude oil from some countries to other countries, micro bacteria who live freely in the sea could be used to extract the oil at sea more quickly.

Name of the bio remediation process, which means eliminating pollutants by biological processes. Bio degradation is the decomposition process of oil at sea with biological materials, one with bacteria. Within three years study, it is discovered 182 new species and 53 genera in three areas of the sea territorial which became the main route of tankers, namely the Malacca Strait, Sunda Strait, and the Lombok Strait.

Instead of thinking about materials with chemical substances to clean the sea and ended up re-contaminate, it’s better utilize the wealth of marine bacteria. Fumiyoshi Okazaki, one of the researchers from Japan Nite, presents the research, titled “Diversity and Functional Analysis of Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Degrading Bacterial Communities in Coastal Zones of Indonesia.” The study centered on the Straits of Malacca and Lombok Straits mentions the role of Acinetobacter and Alcanivorax a very dominant role in bio degradation. Natural microbes that are responsible for remediation of oil. The population of bacteria are constantly working and levels of n-Alkanes in constantly also decreased after seven days incubation period.

Facebook, one of the major social networking site that is currently growing rapidly, a few time ago announced plans to build large data centers in Oregon, USA. What is interesting is that all servers using the servers efficient plan in terms of consumption of electric energy to serve the millions of people communicate with each other, one of them is you.

Though seen with the use of environmentally friendly energy-efficient servers, but not enough for a data center, including one who consumes large amounts of electricity for the servers, cooling systems, and backup power device to be environmentally friendly, because the resources and processes which occurs at power plants must also environmentally friendly.

For those of you who feel concerned with the environment, there is one thing you can possibly make use of considerations with your facebook account. Because, based on information from Greenpeace, Facebook will rely on electricity supply for its data center from power plants that burn coal and increase carbon emissions to join the millions of tons of CO2 that have been scattered in the atmosphere beforehand.

PacifiCorp, an electric company of choice for Facebook to electricity supply, is a company which amounted to 83% of the electricity it generates comes from burning coal, geothermal and natural gas.

It remains unclear what underlies Facebook also choose to add the CO2 released into the atmosphere by selecting PacifiCorp. Presumably because of the cost of the power plant provides the best option for Facebook to grow more quickly by investing a lightweight.

One way to handle garbage is 3R, which is Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. In order to use the organic waste as compost. How do I make compost? Can we make it at home? At first you have to separate the organic and inorganic waste, you know what is organic waste? yes rotting garbage, such as leaves, trash from the kitchen, or leftovers and shredded into small pieces.

The next step is mix the waste that has been shredded by active material. The active material is “microorganisms” that could be taken from the ground in a drain, or bacteria than sold on the market (called EM4) into a container that is always enough air supply.

Trash containers stored into some place that have enough air circulation and always turn around every 2-3 days. When this piece of garbage become warmer, it is a sign that the process of compost formation worked well. After 3 weeks you can take the waste that has a dark brown color from the pile and it can be use as fertilizer for crops and your gardening.

The easiest way is using compost bin. Today, compost tumblers have replaced the necessity of daily work to make compost. This compost tumbler is to automatically keep everything aerated. Air is very important for the process and without the air, you will have little or no fertilizer for your crops and garden.

One growing trend is a healthy food and organic. But Do we need to eat all organic foods and no longer to buy food or fruits that “ordinary”? Environmental Working Group answer this question by making a grocery shopping list to buy organic and not sufficiently comprehensive to fruits and vegetables which is often consumed. Short list you can see above this picture.

What would we have to reduce consumption of foods which contain pesticides. We also have to care because pesticides can interfere with our health, especially in children. Therefore, whenever possible buy organic foods in accordance with the list from the EWG, so no at all be organic. Some of organic that we do not have to buy in organic are onions, avocado, pineapples, mangoes, asparagus, bananas, kiwi, vegetable cabbage, broccoli and papaya.

In order to consume food that is clean and healthy, we should wash all fruits and vegetables before eating. Washing can decrease but not eliminate at all (information from the EWG). For a thin rind that you can rinse under the tap about 20-30 seconds. Fruit peel can reduce the content of pesticides but also sometimes even eliminate the essential nutrients contained in the fruit skin.
