These products also received awards from the European Green EV 2010-2011 European Imaging & Sound Association.

Econova deserve it because the technology indeed pay attention to environmental factors. Television with 42-inch screen is just consuming electricity of 40 watts in Eco mode. Remote is also been equipped with small solar cells to charge the battery in it.

Philips Concern for the environment is also demonstrated through Econova to no longer use paper as the owner’s manual. Philips to integrate them into its product television alias e-manual.

All the outside of Econova also made of recycled aluminum, the same as other Philips products. The screen is used to adopt the latest technology LED display and is able to reduce electricity consumption by 60% while maintaining image quality it produces.

Econova is not ”power vacuum” objects like the results of a study, then the Philips Zero Power Switch technology. This technology ensures power consumption remains Econova 0 watts when the television is turned off via the remote control is normally in stand-by mode.

Philips also do not want its product packaging will add a plastic or styrofoam waste which is now very worried. Therefore the company has used material that is 100% can be recycled again.

That is one of the slogans of the trends that exist across the world. We can begin to reduce our plastic waste to not wear it but replace it.

1. Do not use plastic bags for shopping. Bring your own shopping bag that can always be used again.
2. Do not just throw away plastic bottle after drinking. Fill with water again and again, although not too many refill. Approximately 5 times disposable still okay. For the usual drink in the car, prepare a bottle is always fully charged.
3. It’s better to buy a drink bottles that can be refilled and do not always have to buy another bottle of mineral water.
4. In western countries many cafes like Starbucks have started to allow customers to bring their own mugs or better to fill a coffee Thermos. Plastic bags can still be used again. But if the plastic glass can only once.

Sometimes it is also difficult if not inserted with an incentive to the customer. Yet if we do not use plastic bags or plastic cup of cafe will also reduce their costs thereby increasing profits.

So in western countries have a lot of entrepreneurs who want to come help provide incentives such as supermarkets which offer a discount when not using their plastic bags such as Aldi or Albertsons. IKEA instead will force customers to pay for plastic bags. With this IKEA expects customers will reduce consumption of plastic bags which reach 70 million bags per year just for the United States.

Singapore began to assign a particular day as “Bring Your Own Bag” Day, where customers are required to bring their own pockets and who does not carry required to pay the 30 cents that will be used for environmental activities. Shopping bags that can be reused now a best seller in Singapore.

In fact we have to laugh at those who do not understand the importance of environment and lack of awareness to reduce waste. Now many shopping bags with unique and funky design as well so that young children do not feel inferior. Drink bottles also are getting cool so do not feel like a kindergartner who brought a bottle to drink.

Facebook, one of the major social networking site that is currently growing rapidly, a few time ago announced plans to build large data centers in Oregon, USA. What is interesting is that all servers using the servers efficient plan in terms of consumption of electric energy to serve the millions of people communicate with each other, one of them is you.

Though seen with the use of environmentally friendly energy-efficient servers, but not enough for a data center, including one who consumes large amounts of electricity for the servers, cooling systems, and backup power device to be environmentally friendly, because the resources and processes which occurs at power plants must also environmentally friendly.

For those of you who feel concerned with the environment, there is one thing you can possibly make use of considerations with your facebook account. Because, based on information from Greenpeace, Facebook will rely on electricity supply for its data center from power plants that burn coal and increase carbon emissions to join the millions of tons of CO2 that have been scattered in the atmosphere beforehand.

PacifiCorp, an electric company of choice for Facebook to electricity supply, is a company which amounted to 83% of the electricity it generates comes from burning coal, geothermal and natural gas.

It remains unclear what underlies Facebook also choose to add the CO2 released into the atmosphere by selecting PacifiCorp. Presumably because of the cost of the power plant provides the best option for Facebook to grow more quickly by investing a lightweight.

On the latest estimates, amounting to 5% of electricity usage in the United States by electronic equipment connected to the network is left in standby mode condition.

A phenomenon, which according to experts, including fear, as well as rising oil prices and global warming.

According to the United States Department of Energy, DOE, in the year 2010 this percentage could reach 20%.

In California alone, a proposal related to the matters have been approved by policy makers. The proposal proposes to add vampire electronics labels to an electronic product, which explains how much energy is used in the charger, computer, DVD player, PlayStation, microwave or coffee maker, at the time of ON, OFF or in standby.

Electronic equipment using displays such as the appointment time or condition of such equipment also consumes electricity during standby. Not much different from the case with equipment that require battery recharging, such as cell phones, PDAs, laptops, etc., also consume electricity, even though the equipment has reached the capacity of the filling.

It is not many people know about this problem. Electricity which is used for electronic equipment in your home, it used 405 electronic equipment in a state of standby.

He suggested that, your computer equipment, including a printer or scanner, connected to one AC connector (power jack), which can be turned off after use.

The International Energy Agency estimates that energy use even when the electronic equipment on standby for 200 to 400 TerraWatt hours per year. Still according to the IEA, the Italian electricity consumption amounted to 300 TW hours per year.

Accordingly, Energy Star, a program coordinated by the DOE and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to identify some equipment that consumes less energy. If one of 10 houses only use the equipment in accordance with the program, the Energy Department estimates, there will be a big reduction in carbon emissions by planting trees at an area of 1.7 million acres or about 687,990 hectares.

1. Stop consuming chemicals. All food are conventionally using synthetic pesticides / chemicals, contain residues of chemicals. All types of pesticides are carcinogenic substances (a substance that caused due to burning can stimulate the growth of cancer).

2. To be healthy, at least we can start with what we eat everyday. Because rice (rice) is 60% to 70% of the total that we eat every day, so the rice (rice) is very influential to our health. You can Imagine how many milli grams of chemical elements into our bodies every day.

3. Protect the Children
Children are vulnerable to toxins than adults. A study conducted in 1980 concluded that on average children exposed to cancer-causing toxic ingredients four times more than in adults, where most come from the kinds of kid’s food that they eat. Choosing foods have an important effect on health of future children.

4. Protecting water quality, air and soil Consuming organic food means that we can participate in the restoration of ecosystems that have been damaged and to participate actively maintain the balance of nature. There are some toxins POP (Persistent Pollutant Org) to watch the result of the use of synthetic pesticides / chemicals other than DDT found in soil, air and water, among others are: aldrin, chlordane, dieldrin, endrin, heptachlor, mirex, toxaphenyl, hexachlorobenzene , PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), dioxins, furans.

5. Protecting the Agricultural Worker Health
By consuming organic products that assist in their struggle for a healthy work environment. Example cases:
a. 18 Population migration in North Lampung died from rat poison, tuberculosis or respiratory tract cancer.
b. 12 people in klaten farmer died from poison DDT.

6. Supports Local Farmers in Small scales
Helping our communities to achieve food security. Low price of conventional foods shows that agricultural workers do not receive a fair wage/income.

7. The taste of organic is better.
According to people who used to consume organic food, is more sweet and crunchy, and also more aromatic freshness fragrant, soft, and more durable.

The next step is mix the waste that has been shredded by active material. The active material is “microorganisms” that could be taken from the ground in a drain, or bacteria than sold on the market (called EM4) into a container that is always enough air supply.

Trash containers stored into some place that have enough air circulation and always turn around every 2-3 days. When this piece of garbage become warmer, it is a sign that the process of compost formation worked well. After 3 weeks you can take the waste that has a dark brown color from the pile and it can be use as fertilizer for crops and your gardening.

The easiest way is using compost bin. Today, compost tumblers have replaced the necessity of daily work to make compost. This compost tumbler is to automatically keep everything aerated. Air is very important for the process and without the air, you will have little or no fertilizer for your crops and garden.

It is very little mess and it will function without to many maintenance. Some of tumbler have a manual crank and driven by solar power or electricity. Choose the type that fit to your needs.

For environmentally friendly, one more thing we need to reduce their use: paper: paper production requires a lot of energy, water, and of course the king of trees!

Do you know that saving the use of paper means also saving water? So, what to do? It turned out to make a sheet of copier paper, at least require 400 ml of water, equivalent to alias 2 cups. And we all know that water is now a commodity which includes rare and should be saved as much as possible. But not only that, save the use of paper also means saving the forests in the world who increasingly been denuded. This is because the raw materials of the major paper-reaching 95 percent of the wood.

It may be hard to find relationships in data on the daily life of our home. Moreover, more awaits the use of paper associated with the activity in the office. For more details, see around our house. Newspapers, shopping receipts, credit card bills, brochures, packets of rice, until the tissue, can easily be found in the house.

Everything is a product of the paper, which often only end up in the trash. This shows that the amount of paper usage in many households and its impact can not be ignored.

We can not close our eyes and handed responsibility to the affairs of this paper offices. This is our responsibility too! Many fact that we can do at home to reduce paper consumption.

Maximum Use
Invitations using paper on both sides, should not be considered as a mere slogan. Seemingly easy way is still not practiced a lot of people. Begin to use the side of the paper is still no respond.

Papers that come into the house, such as invoices or leaflets, do not immediately discarded. Separate the paper can still be used in a special basket. Cut paper into small scraps of paper. Section beyond the empty can be used to record phone messages or shopping lists.

When opening an envelope, then don’t tear it up. That way, the envelope is still in a clean and tidy. Save this envelope to be used again. In this way, save paper jam, can also save money

For birthday? Usually we give someone a gift wrapped in pretty paper. The paper presents an unnecessary extravagance. Often, the paper specifically purchased for only torn out and thrown away. Try to create with wrapping paper of the existing materials in the house. Newspaper, magazines-colored, comic pages long, interesting gift wrapping made. Add decorative style that match natural to support the theme of “recycling”.

Newsprint is one of the largest contributors to the waste paper in the household in general. Before it sold to the junkman, use of newspaper for a variety of purposes. Maybe some already we apply at home, but it never hurts to remind again of how a newspaper can be useful. In addition to gift wrap, use newspaper as a protector when glassware stored or transmitted. Remember also the teachings of our grandmothers used, the cleaning of glass windows with newspapers. The fibers in newsprint can pave the glass surface and make it look translucent.

Variety of waste paper can be used various materials unique crafts. Encourage children to put their creativity by processing waste paper back in the house, one of which is to recycle paper. That way, they are taught early on to appreciate every piece of paper there.

Go Online!
Computers are finding that trust can reduce paper usage, because all documents will be stored in the form of files. At home, start getting used to life “without papers”; receiving and transmitting digital information through. For example, switch credit card bills and phone bills are sent by mail every month with the bills through electronic mail (email). That way we have come to reduce ‘the use of unnecessary paper.

Furthermore, the scan (scan) the documents still need to be considered, such as proof of payment to the bank, and save the file in the computer. If you already have a copy like this, the physical form of paper can be recycled. It’s not all documents can be scanned, for reasons of security and authenticity, such as birth certificates or letters of land ownership. But with reduced majority, our file cabinets to be more relieved!

Because we become more dependent on computers, computer consequences should be “maintained”. In that sense, the computer must be free from viruses that risk damaging the documents. Computers also be in top shape, with no problems on the hardware and software. In addition, “treatment” is making another routine back up, just in case if there is something that can destroy the document.

Back to the past
After struggling with the idea online, time to go back to the past practice to save paper. Right now we are used to clean everything with a tissue. Wiping the sweat from his face, we rely on the tissue. Drinks spilled, the water is absorbed by tissue. Hands wet from washing hands, dried with a tissue. And finally that clump clump tissue in the trash pile.

Tissue paper is a product of modern times. Disposable nature ensures that it is more hygienic. Considering the consumption of a very large napkin around the world, saving the use of tissue would have an impact big enough for saving paper.

If possible, use a fabric cloth back to the kitchen, the sink, and a front wiper. Fabrics can be washed and used repeatedly so as not to waste paper. Avoid also the use of beverage packaging and plastic plates in the house, even at a certain time like a party. Always select cutlery that can be reused. In addition, the paper utensils are generally made of plastic containing waste more difficult to recycle.

Lastly, always separate the waste paper with other debris. This is to facilitate the staff in the sorting of garbage, so this paper can be directly taken to the recycling place. At present, waste paper and its derivative products include the 25 percent of all garbage in garbage disposal. Help us in saving and sorting garbage.

There have been many people who give the warning, rumors, gossip and even a magazine article about the dangers of plastic. But still, only a handful of people who care until further study.

Plastic is one of the ingredients we can find in almost every item. Starting from drinking bottles, TV, refrigerator, pipes, plastic laminate, dentures, compact disk (CD), (cleaning nails), cars, machinery, military equipment to pesticides. Therefore, we can almost certainly never use and have items that contain bisphenol-A. One of the things that use plastic and contain bisphenol A is a food and beverage industries as food storage, plastic food cover, mineral water bottles and baby bottles even though it is no baby bottles and food storage that do not contain bisphenol A that is safe for food use . One test proved 95% of people never use items contain bisphenol-A.

Plastics are used for light, not easily broken, and cheap. However, the plastic also poses risks to the environment and health of our families. Therefore, we must understand the plastic-safe plastic we use.

What is the meaning of the symbols that we encounter in various plastic products?

#1. PETE or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles used for clear plastic / transparent / translucent like mineral water bottles, juice bottles, and almost all other beverage bottles. BOTO-bottle with materials # 1 and # 2 is recommended only for single-use. Do not use for warm and hot water. Dispose the old bottles.

#2. HDPE (high density polyethylene) used for milk bottle milk white. Same as # 1 PET, # 2 is recommended only for one usage.

#3. V or PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is the most difficult plastic recyclable. This plastic can be found on the plastic wrap (cling wrap), and bottles. Ingredients from PVC is DEHA that contained in plastic wrap and can leak into the greasy food when heated. PVC potentially harmful to the kidneys, liver and body weight.

#4. LDPE (low density polyethylene) is used to place food and bottles of soft. The goods with the code # 4 may be in recycling and good for things that require flexibility, but strong. Goods with # 4 can not be practically destroyed, but still good for the food.

# 5. PP (polypropylene) is the best choice for plastic materials, especially related to food and drink such as a place to store food, drink and most important bottle drink bottle for the baby. Is a common characteristic transparent bottles that are not clear or cloudy. Look for this symbol when buying goods made from plastic.

# 6. PS (polystyrene) is used as a place to eat Styrofoam, disposable drinking places, etc.. Polystyrene material could leak styrine material into food when food is touching. Styrine hazardous materials to the brain and nervous system. Besides the food, styrine also can be obtained from cigarette smoke, fumes and building construction materials. This material should be avoided and many American states have banned the use made of styrofoam food places, including in China.

# 7. Other (usually polycarbonate) can be found in the foods and beverages such as sports drink bottles. Polycarbonate can release its main ingredient is bisphenol-A into the food and beverages that potentially damage the hormone system. Avoid Polycarbonate plastics.

Still lots of plastic stuff that does not include these symbols, especially locally made plastic goods in Indonesia. Therefore, if you are hesitate, would better you are not buy. Even if some symbolic goods more expensive, the price is more valuable than the health of our families.

At the end. Avoid using any plastic in the microwave. Use ceramic, glass or pyrex instead.

Avoid plastic trash also mainly containing bisphenol-A is arbitrary because the materials could contaminate groundwater, which in turn can contaminate drinking water a lot of people.
